Meet our friendly care team

The dedicated and experienced team at Charlotte House will provide your loved one with care that’s completely tailored to their individual needs and wishes.

Elisabeta Carmen Surligeanu

Home Manager

Elisabeta Carmen Surligeanu

I joined Care UK in 2017 because the organisation is known for delivering high quality older people’s care.

Care UK is also very supportive to its colleagues – helping them to learn and progress.

I’m a Registered General Nurse and have studied social care and management. I always aim to work with love and passion, and with a smile. I lead by example and believe in the importance of treating my team with dignity and respect. If I don’t know the answer to something, I will always find it out so that I can support families and colleagues as much as possible.

I love making residents smile and fulfilling their wishes. Charlotte House feels like a true home from home. Residents and colleagues are like family and we strive to see the world through the eyes of the people we care for, and their families, so that we can enable them to have empowering and enjoyable experiences every day.

Shanika Scott
Deputy Manager

I am originally from Jamaica and was originally recruited in 2018. I remember being a bit frightened when I just came to the UK as I did not have any relatives in the country.

My journey started as a pre-registered nurse where my duties included working closely with residents, which enabled me to fully appreciate the work that goes into caring for the residents. I passed my OSCE after one month and officially became a Registered Nurse. I loved working with the staff to ensure that the residents were well looked after. After a while, I started taking interest in other aspects of care including the use of systems as I also have an IT background, this caused me to be in the sights of my now Home Manager and I was quickly promoted to Unit Manager after less than a year of working as a Nurse. I was a Unit Manager for 1 ½ years, then my current manager started to teach me additional duties outside of my scope as she became quite intrigued as to how far I could go. I was eventually promoted to Deputy Manager in 2022 and currently remain in this position. I continue to be supported immensely by my Home Manager and my Regional Director.

I am extremely grateful for the opportunity awarded to me by Care UK and I believe they do well to take care of their staff and offer development opportunities, which are quite easy to access. They are keen on ensuring that they produce competent staff and this is inspiring.

Lifestyle Coordinator

I joined Care UK in 2022 having decided I wanted to make the move into the care industry. Prior to this, I was a welfare assistant and a trained teaching assistant in primary education. I worked at a local primary school for 17 years, but decided the time was right for a change.

Taking up the role of Lifestyle Coordinator has been a huge career highlight for me. I love being able to spend time with residents and listening to their stories and them joining in with activities looking happy and fulfilled.

The role requires a strong desire to help people, as well as sensitivity and understanding, patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Since joining Charlotte House, the staff have been very supportive and made me feel so welcome. They really are a great team.

Lifestyle Coordinator

I have over a decades' experience in the care industry, having held roles as a carer and also care coordinator. Working in care, the most important character traits a person can have is to be friendly, caring, and passionate.

I joined Care UK in 2018 as I had heard a lot of good things about the company, and how passionate they are working as a team to maintain residents' fulfilling lives.

Outside of work, I like to stay active and spend time outdoors. I enjoy horse riding and going to the park with my grandchildren, as well as spending time with the rest of my family.

My favourite part of each day working at Charlotte House is being able to sit with residents and enjoy activities with them. Everyday I find joy in seeing residents smiling and laughing.

Business Administrator

Before moving my career to Charlotte House in early 2019 I was a Care Coordinator for a domiciliary care company. I was keen to stay in the care sector but have some fresh challenges and a chance to develop professionally, which is why I joined the team here.

I love using my skills to make a difference to older people’s lives, helping to sort out queries, talk to residents or support colleagues. In my role you need to be a good communicator and listener, and be able to multitask. Confidence and reliability are important too.

Away from work I enjoy catching up with friends, reading, bowling and going travelling whenever I can.

Rachel Kleboe

Head Housekeeper

I joined the Charlotte House team in 2017 because it was the best care home in the Isleworth area. It offers great training too, which was important to me as I was returning to work after a long break.

I’ve done lots of different jobs that have given me the skills to do this job well. But what’s truly important in this role is having a caring nature, an eye for detail and a ‘can do’ attitude. A sense of humour and plenty of energy!

There’s a lovely atmosphere at Charlotte House. You can feel it when you walk through the door. I enjoy spending time with the residents and knowing I’ve done all I can to ensure their home is clean, safe and comfortable for each of them.

I love attending music festivals and going on camping trips whenever I can, spending time with family and friends and having fun.

Receptionist

I joined the Charlotte House team because I wanted to work in an environment with a caring element, where people are passionate about the work they do. I started out working in the laundry, but after a year I applied for this position and got it. I enjoy the fact that, even though I’m not a carer, I can do my bit to make the residents’ lives better. I enjoy making them smile and doing whatever I can for them.

I enjoy learning new skills, time management has been a useful skill to learn as it can get very busy on reception sometimes! A friendly, welcoming and positive attitude is also vital in my role, as is a determination to support residents and their families. It’s wonderful to see residents’ faces light up when they see a loved one who has come to visit.

In my downtime I like to socialise with friends as it helps me to unwind after a busy week. I also enjoy reading as it’s very relaxing.

Maintenance

I Joined Care UK in 2022 having previously gained experience as both a chef and running my own property maintenance company. I joined the company as I wanted a job that was meaningful and makes a difference to others' lives.

I enjoy talking to the residents and finding out things about each individual. It is fascinating to find out about their interests and what they have done over the years. Working within a care home it is important to be kind, caring and have a can-do attitude.

I am constantly looking to learn, most recently working toward a plumbing apprenticeship. It is rewarding using the skills I have developed over the years to improve the home for the residents. You never know what challenges the day will bring!
